Orders of Protection & Domestic Violence
Domestic violence is a very sensitive matter. Domestic violence comes in all shapes and forms including but not limited to physical, emotional, and/or financial harm. A person can be awarded either a criminal or family court order of protection. Each Court has its own requirements to an order of protection.
It is extremely important that you consult an attorney prior to filing a petition in family court for an order of protection.
What you say in Court will make a difference in whether or not you are granted a temporary order of protection.
Ms. Lukose has done many trials on orders of protection and previously worked as an attorney with the Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence. She will fight to keep you safe.
