Parental Alienation

This is a topic that has received much attention in recent years. Parental alienation becomes a problem when one parent creates barriers to the relationship of the other parent and their child.

Talking bad about the parent, encouraging the child to not listen to the parent, resisting parenting time, coaching the child on his feelings toward the parent, are all examples of ways to alienate a child from the other parent. Parental alienation is a grounds to change custody. It is a dangerous thing to do. Forensic evaluators and therapists are crucial to show to the Court that alienation has occurred.
